The Producers Association of Muralla from Huanuara, in partnership with AgroIndustrias San Pedro, exports a first container of organic oregano from the South of Peru to Switzerland. The Peruvian highlands are know for its ideal conditions to produce organic crops, free from agrochemicals with a high content of essential oils.

The export of oregano was carried out as part of the ceremony for the "Day of the Farmer", organized by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of the Regional Government of Tacna.

The president of the "Muralla" association, Anacleto Osco Atencio, said that in total they will ship 20 tons of organic oregano. The dream of exporting Muralla's organic oregano began to materialize when the district municipality of Huanuara built a collection center for the aromatic herb. At this moment, the association is the only one in the region that has an international certificate to grow and process organic products
