DEEP ROCK GALACTIC: SURVIVOR CRACKS OPEN NEW ‘EGG HUNT’ MISSION TYPE IN HEAVY DUTY EXPANSION

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, April 2nd, 2026 – Today, Ghost Ship Publishing and developer Funday Games revealed that a new mission type featuring a powerful boss is coming to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor as part of the upcoming Heavy Duty expansion DLC, launching April 30th on Steam.

Introducing Egg Hunt, a new objective-driven mission where Deep Rock Galactic’s hard-working dwarves are once again being put to the test, tasked with tracking down and retrieving Alien Eggs buried deep within the mines of Hoxxes IV, for research, of course.

A fan-favourite staple of the original Deep Rock Galactic, Egg Hunt makes its debut in Survivor with some adjustments. Across a three-stage mission, miners will need to recover Alien Eggs and call in Bosco to deliver them back to the cargo pod before facing a final multi-phase standoff as a giant Brood Nexus emerges at the drop point. Miners are warned that as the powerful boss reaches critical health levels, it will grow a swarm of Nexus Sprouts to guard their fierce leader.

The reveal comes as part of the recently announced Heavy Duty expansion, which introduces the high-speed Demolisher class, a range of powerful new weapons designed to boost mining efficiency and more.
