PUBG MOBILE introduces a range of haunting new features in its Version 4.0 Update:
- Step into the eerie Wraithmoor Mansion, encounter supernatural companions and threats, and take to the skies with the Magic Broom.
- A whole host of additional In match and Out of Match features arrive in World of Wonder, including new creator tools, visual programming, vehicles, and items
- Enjoy Classic Mode updates, including the new Mortar weapon, realistic reloading, and smoother weapon handling.

LONDON - September 3rd, 2025 - PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, is excited to reveal a plethora of new additions in its Version 4.0 Update. Available from today until November 4, players can step into Spooky Soiree themed gameplay, explore haunted mansions, team up with ghoulish creatures, and enjoy a host of eerie new items, challenges, and in-game updates for a frightfully fun experience.
The Version 4.0 Update introduces the captivating Spooky Soiree themed mode, available across Erangel, Livik, and Rondo. Players can team up with Ghostie, a personal ghost companion that follows players throughout the match, visible only to its owner unless a skill is activated. Ghostie can be equipped with one main skill and two passive skills at a time. Choose between two main skills and five passive skill options, each upgradeable across three levels via direct pick-up, or by using rare skill items. From September 4th, the Erangel and Rondo maps will add Main Skill - Floating Balloon, Passive Skill - Boost, and Passive Skill - Ghost Helm, whilst Livik will add Main Skill Guardian Shield, Passive Skill - Boost, and Passive Skill - Ghost Helm, whilst Prankster Ghost will have the Shield skill across all three maps. On September 11th, Erangel, Rondo, and Livik will add Passive Skill - Armorer and Passive Skill - Scan. On September 18th, Main Skill - Guardian Shield and Passive Skill - Heal will be added in Erangel and Rondo, whilst Livik will add MainMain Skill - Floating Balloon and Passive Skill - Heal. Prankster Ghost will be granted all three abilities: Bomb, Scan, and Shield. Eliminated players transform into Prankster Ghosts, and can continue influencing the match until they take damage or their energy bar is depleted. These ghosts can use unique abilities such as Bomb to explode and knock back enemies, Scan to reveal a target’s location for a short period of time, and Shield to block damage.
Alongside these ghostly additions comes the Magic Broom, a vehicle that can carry up to two players, fly freely, and unleash both a speed boost and a sweep attack to knock back enemies. Meanwhile, the Haunted Sight offers one-tap switching between 1x–4x zoom, spooky-cute voice lines, and interactive animations for a playful yet eerie aiming experience.
In addition to the above, Erangel and Livik also see the arrival of Wraithmoor Mansion, a sprawling estate brimming with peculiar oddities and supernatural decor. Players will encounter ghostly presences that influence gameplay, including magical mirrors concealing treasure and haunted, floating furniture that adds an eerie twist to every corner. The 4.0 Update also introduces Scaredy Ghosts, who appear disguised as ordinary objects, rewarding players with supplies when forced out of hiding via an attack, with missed strikes sending them fleeing. Midway through matches, the Performing Dead stage a ghostly rock concert where players can earn rewards, assist the band for bonus loot, and even receive spectral hints about nearby enemies.
To celebrate seasonal traditions, the Version 4.0 Update introduces special themed locations and items in Erangel and Livik. The Moonlight Festival Checkpoint features an Eastern-style pavilion floating on water under the full moon, where players can find Mid-Autumn Mooncakes that restore Health and Energy. Likewise, from October 20 to November 2, the Day of Gathering Checkpoint brings vibrant skulls and marigolds to the map, accompanied by Day of GatheringChocolate, a festive treat that also replenishes health and energy.
The latest update introduces World of Wonder 1.0, delivering a significant boost to creator access and empowering even more players to design and share their own unique content. To support this growing creator community, WOW cash incentives has once again increased its rewards, with a total prize pool of $10 million. Top creators will have the chance to win $200,000, with more than 100,000 creators expected to receive incentive earnings in 2025. Alongside these updates, the all-new WOW Pass system makes its debut. By playing World of Wonder content and completing missions, players can earn points and get a wide variety of free rewards. Those who upgrade the Pass will gain access to additional customizations and exclusive perks. A portion of the earnings from the WOW Pass will be reinvested directly into the World of Wonder Incentive Program, further increasing the cash prize pool and giving back to creators across the ecosystem.
Metro Royale Chapter 28 arrives in Version 4.0, bringing new collectibles alongside Metro Royale Solo, allowing you to challenge teammates to a 1v1 in Metro Royale from the Lobby. Ghost Crates will now randomly appear across Metro Royale Classic maps, offering highly valuable sellable items. Alongside the new season, the Metro Royale Weekend Market will open every Friday to Sunday, offering players the chance to sell select items at higher prices. From September 13, all talents will be temporarily unlocked each weekend, giving all players the opportunity to try them out. Classic Mode also receives a wave of exciting updates that enhance both combat and immersion. A new Mortar weapon arrives, giving players a powerful new way to attack with direct fire or long-range map-based strikes. Realistic Reloading adds tactical depth, simulating real-life reload mechanics across multiple weapon types, and updated pistol animations provide greater authenticity, whilst some weapons now gain an extra round when reloading tactically, just like in real life. Weapon handling feels smoother than ever thanks to improved recoil transitions, while foregrip and stock adjustments bring more balanced and strategic choices to attachments. Players can also discover new interactive swings and a Ferris wheel in Lipovka’s seaside park on Erangel, perfect for a quick break between battles.
The latest update brings a host of exciting new features, styles, and gameplay improvements to Home Mode. The Lunar Castle Home Style makes its debut complete with themed Lucky Spin and a new Craftsman’s Pass. To make decorating easier, a new Blueprint Installment Plan has been introduced, allowing players to pay in installments when purchasing Home blueprints, alongside updates to the Mysterious Merchant and Home return crates. Two fresh gameplay modes also arrive this season: Treasure Hunt, where players can use Home Coins to set up a Game Table, invite friends, complete missions, and claim rewards; and a new Parking Lot Gameplay season, which allows players to showcase their vehicles, earn Parking Tokens, and compete in seasonal rankings for exclusive prizes.
Alongside a range of new system updates and enhancements, including quick crosshair switching for 4x scopes, custom MVP badges, and lower entry level requirements for Training Camp, the Version 4.0 Update also marks the arrival of Super Smooth graphics option, allowing for higher FPS, reduced lag, less overheating, and reduced power consumption on select devices.
Version 4.0 also marks the start of Cycle 9 Season 26, bringing new legendary items, tier rewards, and exclusive honors. The all-new Firearm Combat Power system launches, allowing players to take on an exciting new seasonal objective by accumulating Firearm Combat Power in Ranked Classic Mode matches (Crown tier and above) and Ultimate Royale matches. This innovative feature introduces both global and regional leaderboards, giving competitors the chance to prove their dominance and climb to the very top among the most elite players. Along the way, participants can unlock exclusive Firearm Combat Power titles, offering a prestigious way to showcase their skills and hard-earned achievements on the battlefield. Path of Glory will launch in Cycle 9 Season 26, allowing players ranked Ace and above to unlock new exclusive honours, with rewards including brand-new MVP Badges, dynamic nickname, Squad Results Emote, Match Start Animation, and more.
Also launching at the end of September as part of Version 4.0 is UNFAIL, a new thrilling pursuit and escape themed asymmetrical competitive mode previously announced at gamescom 2025. Each match consists of five players: one powerful Predator versus four Survivors with the Predator possessing formidable abilities to hunt down and eliminate the Survivors to win. To claim their victory, the Survivors must cooperate to hold off the Predator as they activate terminals and escape through an exit gate.
Version 4.0 brings Kaiju-sized action to PUBG MOBILE. From September 5th to 30th, players can add character sets for Kafka Hibino, Reno Ichikawa, Mina Ashiro, Kikoru Shinomiya, and Soshiro Hoshina to their collections, each with unique idle animations. Alongside a transformation mechanic letting players become the legendary Kaiju No. 8, a themed melee weapon and two firearms - one of which can be upgraded to boost its power - introduce fresh ways to dominate the battlegrounds.
Through a prize path event and two luck draw events, players can also unlock the Kaiju No. 8, No. 9, and No. 10 sets, along with a selection of themed vehicles such as the Kaiju No. 10 Buggy and Kaiju No. 9 2-Seat Motorcycle. Players can drop in Kaiju style with the Kaiju No. 8 Parachute, while the Preondactyl Glider delivers a dramatic entrance to the battlegrounds. Additional rewards include themed buddies, ornaments, upgraded helmets and backpacks, avatar frames, a Home decoration, and more, creating a Kaiju-sized PUBG MOBILE experience.

The new Crazy Chicken Day event also arrives in Version 4.0. Players can join the fun by playing PUBG MOBILE on Crazy Chicken day each week for the chance to earn extra rewards. Through Rank Rush, squads can climb the leaderboards together with benefits such as Ranked Team-Up Rating Protection, bonus points, double challenge points, and no tier limits in ranked. Players who join forces in any mode will also enjoy double likes, Synergy, and EXP, while completing just two matches unlocks three-day Weapon Trial Cards. To add an extra layer of excitement, a select number of players who complete their team-up missions will also be randomly selected each week to receive bonus cash rewards.

About Anime Kaiju No. 8
Based on the popular manga series by Naoya Matsumoto, serialized on Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha) since 2020, the anime Kaiju No. 8 portrays intense battles between the Japan Defense Force, tasked with eliminating Kaiju, and the monstrous creatures that routinely threaten human lives.
