PHASMOPHOBIA’S MAJOR ‘CHRONICLE’ UPDATE LAUNCHES TODAY

Get ready for one of Phasmophobia’s biggest updates yet - featuring sound evidence, video recordings and more bug fixes than you can shake a ghost at

LONDON, UK - June 24th, 2025 - Kinetic Games is thrilled to announce that Phasmophobia’s major update, Chronicle, is out today! The spine-chilling update brings a host of exciting gameplay changes and quality of life improvements, including all new sound equipment and significant changes to the way ghost hunters can capture evidence.

Chronicle introduces a complete rework of how Media is gathered and rewarded in Phasmophobia. For the first time, players will have access to the Sound Recorder, a brand new piece of equipment designed to record unique paranormal sounds, alongside two new types of media - video and sound recordings.

The all new journal will see the Photos tab replaced with a Media tab featuring three new sections - Photos, Videos and Sound Recordings - with any photographic, audio or visual evidence logged in the corresponding pages.

Ghost hunters brave enough to do so can use the newest piece of equipment to capture a range of sounds from ghost events, spirit box responses, and more. Using the updated journal, they can listen back to their recordings, letting them discover helpful clues that may have previously been drowned out by terrified screams.

Players with quick reflexes and a keen eye will be able to capture creepy happenings using the video recorder – from ghost orbs, thrown objects and doors moving all by themselves – seeing really is believing! The CCTV system found within the truck has also been completely overhauled, with players now able to view five different live camera feeds at once.

Chronicle update will also offer a range of unique challenges throughout the year, from update launch challenges and equipment focused challenges with improvements to optional objectives.

Whilst the new update offers a host of exciting gameplay changes, it also includes a huge number of bug fixes and quality of life changes - read all about them in the Phasmophobia blog here.

Phasmophobia’s Chronicle update is live today on PC via Steam, PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox Series X|S.

This week, Kinetic Games has also unveiled a new look at the Grafton Farmhouse rework. Set in an isolated farmland, Grafton’s revamp will introduce an eerie new attic, as well as re-themed rooms and redesigned layouts throughout. Arriving after the Chronicle update this year, the developers will have more to announce soon!

Assets for Chronicle are available here, and new screenshots of the Grafton Farmhouse rework are available here.
