Phasmophobia's Tanglewood Rework Arrives on March 3rd
The map that started it all is getting a facelift
SOUTHAMPTON, UK – February 24th, 2026 – Today, Kinetic Games revealed the launch date for Phasmophobia’s highly-anticipated Tanglewood map rework. Available on all platforms from 3rd March, the revised map is designed to increase the quality, interactivity, and replayability of the well-loved location.
6 Tanglewood Drive was the very first map to haunt Phasmophobia players, and remains a fan favourite out of the now 14 maps. Tanglewood is a smaller location, consisting of a single-floor house with two bedrooms, a hobby room, two toilets, a garage, a basement, and a living room, kitchen, and dining room. Kinetic Games will keep this structure and much of the original feel when refreshing the design.
This announcement follows various map additions, including Nell’s Diner, released in November 2025, and other legacy map reworks such as the Grafton and Bleasdale farmhouses. Tanglewood launched in 2020, when Kinetic Games was a small team headed up by a solo developer. Now, from March 3rd, the team will reveal the refreshed map, making space for higher-quality assets and a more enjoyable gaming experience.
With the Tanglewood rework will come brand new ghost interactions within the map and a new surprise in the basement – to be revealed for eager ghost hunters on March 3rd.
“The last thing we want to do is remove the magic that players already experience in the game. We understand that Tanglewood is a fan favourite and it's many of ours too!” Said Corey Dixon, Art Director at Kinetic Games. “The aim of the Tanglewood rework is to raise the map to the same level as the newer locations, and make Phasmophobia the game we've always wanted it to be. We’re so lucky to have such a dedicated fanbase, and we're always conscious of how it could affect our veteran ghost hunters.”
The Tanglewood rework was detailed in Kinetic Game’s 2026 Roadmap and will be followed by a rework of 13 Willow Street later this year. Check out the Phasmophobia 2026 Roadmap for more info on what’s to come.
The 6 Tanglewood Drive map rework is a free update that will be available from March 3rd for Phasmophobia on all platforms. Phasmophobia is available in Early Access on PC via Steam, PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $19.99/£16.75/€19.50.
