Press release -

Food industry employment for Tyrone- The UK Knack Group

A 10 million pound investment by Linden Foods in the Tyrone town of Dungannon will see the establishment of 85 new jobs there.

The managing director of prestige executive employment consultancy UK Knack Group announced this news last night, declaring that the work would become available throughout the coming three year period, bringing Linden’s establishment staff strength to 520.

Contributing to Linden Foods’ investment were Invest Northern Ireland to the tune of 497,000 pounds, and the European Regional Development Fund.

Linden’s expects to increase sales by 32 per cent from the Dungannon investment, but not on the domestic market.  Managing director Gerry McGuire: “Most of our profit enhancement will come from sales outside Ireland.  We have some brilliant new recipes to test, and the new development kitchen will accord us ample opportunity to experiment.

“It’s a logical step in our expansion, and provides the working space we need to stay in the vanguard of the food industry.”

The company’s chairman Trevor Lockhart, too, spoke optimistically of Linden’s prospects, adding, “This new plant is an indication of the commitment we have to Ireland, not only our business interests per se, but our customers and our employees as well.”

UK Knack Group’s chief executive officer said after the opening, “I was impressed with Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster’s recognition that the food industry is one of the lynchpins in Northern Ireland’s economy.  It’s certainly one that’s bounced back, more so than any other sector, and Linden’s investment is a great gesture of confidence.”
