North East law firm sponsors Snowflake Ball fundraiser

The Sick Children’s Trust’s North East Fundraising Committee are hosting a Snowflake Ball to kick start the festive season and fundraise for the charity.

The event, sponsored by law firm Watson Burton, will see guests enjoy a fabulous four course dinner followed by live music, dancing and seasonal activities to raise money for the charity’s ‘Homes from Home’ in Newcastle; Scott House based at Freeman Hospital and Crawford House based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Watson Burton has supported The Sick Children’s Trust over the last year and has sponsored the garden at the newly-opened Scott House. Victoria Mysercough, Marketing Manager at the firm, has also joined the North East Fundraising Committee and is helping to organise the Snowflake Ball which will be the charity’s first ball in the region.

Patrick Harwood, CEO of Watson Burton LLP, said: “We are very proud to be this year’s headline sponsor for the North East Snowflake Ball in aid of The Sick Children’s Trust. The charity’s ‘Home from Home’ initiative provides practical and emotional support to parents and families during a difficult time in their life when they have a seriously ill child being treated in hospital. It is a great cause and, thanks to the hard work of the charity team, the ball looks set to be a great success.”

Caroline O’Doherty, Campaigns and Appeals Manager at The Sick Children’s Trust, said “We really appreciate the generosity of Watson Burton, for supporting us over the last year and sponsoring our first fundraising ball in Newcastle. Families travel from across the North East and beyond to receive specialist treatment in Newcastle and our ‘Homes from Home’ support them when they are facing the most difficult of circumstances. Crawford House and Scott House can accommodate up to 42 families every night of the year so every penny raised at the Snowflake Ball will help us to keep families together when they need each other most.”

The Snowflake Ball will take place on Thursday 11th December at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art’s Riverside Terrace in Newcastle from 7.30pm. Tables of Ten cost £600.
