BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! TotallyTween Launches Get Fit For Fun Campaign 2016, including a Nationwide Schools’ Skipping Challenge

After the phenomenal success of “Get Fit For Fun 2015”, pre-teen digital platform www.totallytween.co.uk is planning an even bigger and better “Get Fit For Fun 2016” campaign. To continue in the spirit of 2015, TotallyTween is once again challenging its audience to “Get Fit for Fun” - which means them joining a swimming, tennis or athletics club, doing an activity they’ve never tried before or simply getting on their bikes with their besties.

Alongside the Get Fit For Fun campaign, schools nationwide will be invited to take part in a Schools’ Skipping Challenge, which will culminate with the Schools’ Skipping Final at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, on 23rd June. TotallyTween is delighted to announce that in 2016 they will be partnering with Fit For Sport through their Healthy Active Schools System for the promotion of this event.

The Schools’ Skipping Final also has the support of partner SERCO Leisure which has 76 sports centres nationwide, who once again will be donating the Bisham Abbey as the venue to host the Schools’ Final, and Davies Sports (Findel Education) will also return as a partner; in 2015 they donated £1000 PE Equipment in prizes.

James Palmer, Senior Sports Development Manager for the National Centres, said:

We are delighted to host TotallyTween’s Get Fit For Fun event again in 2016. We absolutely support this initiative to get Tweens up and down the country active, whilst having fun.”

Chris Mahady, Managing Director, Davies Sports, said:

We are delighted to be working with such an inspirational concept to get tweens active and engaged in sport. We feel honoured that TotallyTween have opted to work with us and look forward to all the exciting things to come.”

TotalllyTween is also proud to confirm the support of Executive Headteacher and accredited OFSTED inspector Clare Fletcher, who is working with TT on its offering to schools – not just this campaign but across all of their activities to positively engage pupils in fitness, and to raise awareness of children’s safety online.

Clare Fletcher said “As childhood obesity hits the headlines on an increasingly regular basis, I feel that the Get Fit For Fun initiative is timely and relevant. I am actively supporting this important campaign and look forward to helping it grow into a nationwide event on the annual school calendar”.

Andrew McKell, Teacher and PE Coordinator of St Edmund Campion Catholic Primary School, the reigning champions “The Campion Champions” said “TotallyTween’s Get Fit For Fun 2015 was an incredibly well organised event. All the children taking part enjoyed an amazing day of activities and went home inspired to continue… each also armed with a goody bag, and for some a spot prize!”

Schools should expect to receive details on how to sign up and take part in the Schools’ Skipping Final during w/c 22nd Feb 2016.
