A Brief Look into Plastic Sheeting Materials and Other Related Products
Plastic sheeting is considered to be an important method of protection for different types of structures. Large greenhouse areas often make use of plastic films and are frequently used in farm buildings where farm products are stored or crops are grown. Other than offering shelter to the construction structure, the plastic sheeting materials are used extensively for groundsheets, tank linings, coverings such as tarpaulin as well as protection for food containers.
Plastic Sheets and Their Types
The most commonly used plastic sheeting products that are currently available in different parts of the world are Linear Low Density Polyethylene, also known as LLDPE. These are highly flexible and are known for being soft and comfortable. They are also identified for having greater tensile strength. Thickness of the LLDPE pliable sheets ranges between 0.5 and 40 Mil. Another type of plastic sheeting product that is used nowadays is the Medium Density Polyethylene or MDPE. Although it is much stronger than LDPE and highly resistant to chemicals, it is often the least used sheeting materials. MDPE sheets are known to be very flexible in offering better resistance to tears and punctures. High Density Polyethylene or HDPE is the strongest variant of plastic sheet. Apart from great strength, the HDPE sheets offer protection from harsh UV rays.

Plastic Roofing Sheets
Companies offering plastic sheets can manufacture plastic roofing sheets of different sizes and densities. Multiwall polycarbonate sheets are used for plastic roofing purposes. Usually, these polycarbonate sheets come in different variations; 25mm sixwall, 16mm triplewall and 10mm twinwall. They are not only lightweight but also tough, and have impact strength that is 200 times of glass. They offer maximum security when fitted, are safe to use and long lasting.
Currently there are many companies that offer specially prepared plastic sheeting for their clients. These companies can also offer plastic glazing materials that can be used in windows, greenhouses, sheds, outbuildings, cold frames, cloches and various other external structures.
