IG Markets: Direct Market Access from your iPhone

IG Markets, the leading provider of Contracts for Difference (CFDs), has today announced that the latest version of its iPhone trading app now comes with Direct Market Access (DMA) functionality. Until today, IG Markets clients have had the option to trade either on an over the counter basis or directly into the market from their PC, but this innovation gives unparalleled flexibility and the same advanced functionality regardless of where an individual wants to trade.

Rather than simply showing the current bid and offer price, DMA gives details of the precise number of shares being offered into - or requested from - the market at any one time. This allows clients to place orders within the market spread and also offers the ability to time orders to take advantage of the weighting in the order book. Furthermore, those with DMA additionally have the ability to participate in the pre- and post-market auctions.

With the London Stock Exchange now only accounting for around 60% of UK equity volumes on any given day, the ability to deal across all the execution venues has never been more important.
