Employees take part in event to support children impacted by cancer

Employees from V.Group’s Singapore office joined their Singapore Shipping Society peers to volunteer at a Children’s Cancer Foundation event.

The Children’s Cancer Foundation is a not for profit organisation with a mission to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families through enhancing their emotional, social and medical wellbeing.

The children were treated to a screening of the Disney movie Moana, which helped the children explore themes of culture and protection of the environment. Following a family lunch, our volunteers – Nurul Amira, Aishah Zainal and Thahira Rejab helped to host a series of games and competitions before the day closed with a prize-giving ceremony.

“Being able to volunteer for this event gave us an opportunity to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. It was a pleasure to host the games for the children, which helps their confidence as well as being a lot of fun,” says Aishah.

Thahira added: “It’s great to be able to work with our peers in the marine industry to support local community initiatives like this – the children and their families have been through a lot and it was so inspiring to see them embrace the challenges and activities on the day.”
