Meet our experts at SMM: Jean-Paul Engels
Jean-Paul is based in Rotterdam, starting his career as a professional diver in 1985 with UMC International and taking a leadership role in 1996 when the business was acquired by V.Group.
As general manager Jean-Paul leads a global team to provide an integrated range of global solutions for underwater inspection, repair and maintenance services. Access to a global network of owned and third party operational bases as well as being a member of One Ocean™ enables UMC to respond quickly with effective project management and execution of complex turn-key inspection, maintenance and repair projects to reduce pay-back time of investments.
While not in the office Jean-Paul enjoys cooking for his family and playing chess. His outdoor pursuits include his garden and of course he's never away from the water for long with his passion for sailing.
