Ophélie de Pimodan – The face behind an anniversary cup

Design expertise and creativity have been at the heart of the Villeroy & Boch brand right from the beginning – and these qualities have been passed down to the descendants of François Boch and Nicolas Villeroy. In 2023, four of them have put pencil to paper to add their own very personal note to the anniversary year. Including Ophélie de Pimodan, a member of the Villeroy family.

Her “Flora & Fauna” design features an imaginative poetic decor in captivating colours. It joins the ranks of the many decors from Villeroy & Boch’s history inspired by the great wealth of colours and shapes from the plant and animal kingdoms. Lifelike and detailed drawings of different birds perched on a branch decorate the anniversary cup designed by Ophélie.

Why choose birds? “Birds almost always feature in my collections and designs. They are graceful, beautiful and fascinating – and are often requested by my customers,” explains Ophélie . “In general, I observe how people enjoy the idea of bringing nature into their everyday lives and homes, and their great interest in designs based on flora and fauna.”

Under the brand “Les créations d’Ophélie”, the designer offers a wide range of home accessories which are produced to order for B2B customers. From wallpaper, to folding screens, lamp shades and soft furnishings – all pieces have a unique design and yet share the common link of Ophélie’s distinctive style. Items that make any space exceptional and create a room filled with poetry. Exactly what decorators, interior designers and home furnishing brands are looking for.

Ophélie de Pimodan has been producing her designs in her boutique on the Rue Saint Honoré in Paris for twelve years. Her customers’ orders are now fulfilled from her own workshop in Boulogne, where she also lives with her family.
