Virgin West Coast enhances First Class menus and weekend catering

From Wednesday 23 May, Virgin West Coast is to enhance the quality, quantity and choice of its First Class menus and will introduce an at-seat catering service for customers travelling First Class at weekends from Sunday 20 May.

The changes to summer concept menus include lighter and fresher products and
come as a result of feedback from customers. The popular breakfast menu has changed only with substitution of sliced or chopped large flat mushrooms for the button variety to provide improved flavour.

Bubble and squeak cakes and eggs Florentine will be introduced as the Primo breakfast speciality dish and there will be full head on kippers.

Salads replace soups in the all-day offer and the salad will come in the form of leaf and wet salad such as Orzo pasta with Crayfish and Prawn. The two items are mixed in the kitchen to provide a fresh salad served with a wedge of rustic bread. Also, mini cakes will replace flapjacks.

Primo dinner changes build on the success of Chef’s Flair, with fresh summer dishes such as Trout and Guilt Head Bream. The Quick Meal, Light Meal, Curry Club and Fish on Friday remain unchanged, but the fish will now be served with chunky chips and tartar sauce will be available.

Deserts and cheeses board will continue to be delivered from the trolley featuring cheeses from the UK.

Customers travelling First Class at weekends during the summer between 11:00 and 18:00 will be able to enjoy an at-seat service of Fairtrade tea and coffee, still and sparkling water and Virgin Cola and Diet Cola. Also available will be packets of crisps, packs of biscuits and apples. Outside these times this Weekend Offer will be available for customers to collect from the Shop.
