Visit Victaulic for flame-free, space-saving piping solutions Nor-Shipping, Oslo – booth D06-17

Visitors to the Nor-Shipping trade fair in Oslo, 4-7 June, can discover how to achieve space savings while simplifying the installation of piping systems at the Victaulic stand, booth D06-17.

Victaulic, the world’s leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, is exhibiting its line of IACS approved products for the shipbuilding industry. On show will be a selection of rigid and flexible couplings, fittings and accessories for a variety of shipboard applications. The booth will also feature a display comparing a grooved valve assembly to a flanged valve assembly.

Compared to flanges, use of couplings in conjunction with a grooved piping system can reduce weight by as much as 70 percent. In addition, couplings reduce the time needed for piping system installation and the space needed for assembly, which allows for easier access and maintenance. Couplings offer a flame-free installation, improving safety in shipyards and aboard ships especially when work needs to be done in confined spaces, and also reduce piping vibration and noise.

Products on show include the installation-ready Style 177 QuickVic Flexible Coupling.  With no loose parts and no requirement to disassemble before installation, this high-performance coupling installs in half the time it takes to fit other couplings, giving users a competitive edge that is unmatched.

For larger-diameter pipe joining, Victaulic Advanced Groove System (AGS)  are the only couplings on the market that offer a two-piece housing in the 350-600 mm (14-24″) range.   With a wedge-shaped groove that is approved for system pressure up to 20 bar (290 psi), Victaulic AGS couplings offer exceptional assembly speed and reliability.  A typical large-diameter joint that requires several hours to weld can be installed easily in less than an hour using Victaulic AGS couplings.

Victaulic is world-recognized for its pipe-joining solutions in a variety of industries. For over 90 years the Victaulic technology has proved to be safe, reliable and efficient.  “The Victaulic grooved mechanical pipe-joining method provides an attractive alternative to welding and flanging for engineers, shipyards and owners.  It avoids hot works, allows quick, easy, safe installation and maintenance to meet compressed project schedules and offers weight and space savings on board,” says Didier Vassal, Vice President OEM and Maritime Services at Victaulic. “For these reasons more and more maritime OEMs are beginning to manufacture products with grooved ends, as they realise the considerable advantages this gives  their own equipment.   Visit booth D06-17 at Nor-Shipping to find out how Victaulic can make a difference in your next shipbuilding project, whether new construction, retrofit or repair.”
