  • Railway lost property money donated to charity

    Cash left on trains and at stations operated by London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway will now be donated to charity. The train operators have handed over the first donation of money found as lost property on the rail network to Alzheimer’s Society - the company's staff-nominated charity partner for the year.

    A new community group led by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) aims to bring a new lease of life to the Jewellery Quarter Station. Through a range of projects and activities and with support from West Midlands Railway, the group has set out to improve the attractiveness of the station, making it a more welcoming and friendly place for visitors, residents and workers.

  • Whistle Stop Tours signal upcoming timetable improvements

    Rail passengers at stations along the West Coast Mainline will be able to find out more about upcoming timetable improvements over the next two weeks. London Northwestern Railway will be hosting a number of ‘Whistle Stop Tour' events at stations, as well as providing senior management on trains across the network to remind passengers of changes to services coming this Spring.

  • Cross City Heroes to receive railway station recognition

    ​Heroic groups from across the West Midlands will be receiving special recognition at local Cross City line stations this summer. 24 local community groups and charities have been given the title of Cross City Heroes, following a competition run by West Midlands Railway and West Midlands Rail Executive.

    London Northwestern Railway passengers are being advised to plan ahead if they intend to travel this weekend (from Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May). Essential planned improvement work will be taking place at London Euston and also between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

  • Successful test run of the first Class 172/0 via Kenilworth

    The first test run of a Class 172/0 has been successfully completed between Leamington Spa and Nuneaton. On Sunday 28 April, the four carriage train, made up of two units cascaded from London Overground, made it’s first through journey between the two stations.

Friends of Stourbridge Stations (FOSS) will be looking to spruce up the two railway stations, by creating colourful new floral displays and running community activities throughout the year.

  • First Class 230 begins passenger services between Bletchley and Bedford

    The first Class 230 D Train has entered passenger service on the Marston Vale line this morning (Tuesday 23 April). Unit 230004 is now in service on the route between Bletchley and Bedford. The train, which has been developed by Vivarail, will provide extra capacity and improved customer experience for passengers on the line.
