London Northwestern Railway passengers urged to plan ahead of November strike action

Press release -

London Northwestern Railway passengers urged to plan ahead of November strike action

London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is urging passengers to plan ahead with strike action set to significantly impact services on four dates over coming days.

On Friday 4 November a very limited timetable will be in operation on LNR routes due to strike action by members of the TSSA trade union. No services will run after 7.30pm.

A similar reduced service will also run on Saturday 5 November, Monday 7 November and Wednesday 9 November due to national strike action by members of the RMT union.

Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said: “It is disappointing that our passengers’ journeys will again be impacted by industrial action over the next week.

“A very limited timetable will be in operation on strike days and we are urging passengers to only travel if absolutely necessary.

“The action coincides with a number of events across the network and I urge anyone travelling to plan carefully as rail services will be extremely limited.”

Routes with a limited service on Friday 4 November, Saturday 5 November, Monday 7 November and Wednesday 9 November (7.30am to early evening) are:

  • Northampton – London Euston (2 trains per hour)
  • Birmingham New Street – Northampton (1 train per hour)
  • Birmingham New Street – Crewe* (1 train per hour)

*On Friday 4 November this service will run to/from Liverpool Lime Street

No trains will run on any other LNR route, including all routes via Stoke-on-Trent, London Euston-Crewe, St Albans Abbey-Watford Junction and Bedford-Bletchley.

Some late night and early morning services may be subject to amendments on days either side of the industrial action (Thursday 3 November, Sunday 6 November, Tuesday 8 November and Thursday 10 November) and passengers are advised to check before travelling.
