Press release -

West Midlands Railway passengers urged to check train times ahead of upcoming timetable change

Rail passengers across the West Midlands are being urged to check their train times as many timetables change this weekend.

From Sunday 18 May, new departure times will apply on many routes across the region as the twice-yearly rail industry timetable change comes into effect.

Among the changes from Sunday 18 May are:

  • An additional service from Shrewsbury to Birmingham will depart Shrewsbury at 20:59, Monday to Friday.
  • There will an additional call at Codsall at 07:30 on the Shrewsbury to Birmingham service, Monday to Friday.

Additionally, there will be minor changes to departure times at some stations on the popular Cross City Line which runs from Lichfield Trent Valley to Bromsgrove and Redditch via Birmingham New Street.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said: “While we are not making any major changes to our timetable this May, I encourage passengers to check their train times before travelling next week.

"As these amendments are part of a nationwide timetable change, there may be more significant changes on routes run by other operators, so it’s always worth checking ahead.”

The new timetables are available to view at wmr.uk/may25
