    INVSN on stage at Bildmuseet June 17

    Good news for all INVSN fans! The post-punk influenced band will play live on stage at Bildmuseet in Umeå, Sweden, on June 17, just two weeks after releasing their first album in five years, Let the Night Love You.

    Temporary employment may consolidate labor market inequality

    A new study from Umeå University show that temporary workers receive less employer-paid training than permanent workers. However, having a union representative present at the workplace can be beneficial for all workers that want to develop their competences.

    Mats Jonsson is one of Sweden's most prominent graphic novel artists. On June 17, Bildmuseet opens an exhibition based on his latest book När vi var samer [When We Were Sami], the first graphic novel to be nominated for the August Prize in the fiction category.     Nancy Holt retrospective to open at Bildmuseet this Summer

    On June 17, Bildmuseet in Sweden opens its doors to a rich presentation of Nancy Holt's innovative art. The exhibition Nancy Holt / Inside Outside presents works from 1967 to 1992 and occupies five floors of the art museum. This is the artist's first major retrospective in Europe and the most ambitious exhibition of her work to date.

    Live is Life is the title of this year’s Master’s degree exhibition from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts at Umeå University, Sweden. It will be inaugurated at Bildmuseet on 29 April with an Art Friday event. Welcome to the press preview on Thursday, 28 April from 10–11 am (R.S.V.P). The artists will be there to present their works.

    Empathy and the ability to understand the situation of others is the theme of Czech artist Eva Koťátková’s exhibition, which opens at Bildmuseet on April 8. The central work is a two-part installation, one of which is shown in the artist’s solo exhibition at Bildmuseet and the other in parallel as part of ARS22 at Kiasma in Helsinki.

    Pija Lindenbaum’s "Vitvivan och Gullsippan" [Lilybell and Bluevalley] has been awarded the Snöbollen [Snowball] prize for Swedish Picture Book of the Year 2021. March 19, in conjunction with the award ceremony during Littfest, Bildmuseet opens an exhibition of original illustrations and sketches from the winning book.

    Swelling of multi-layered graphene oxide materials studied

    Graphite oxide is a multilayer hydrophilic material produced by oxidation of graphite. It is a starting point for preparation of many materials for variety of applications.
