DAGNY ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM – DANCEFLOOR EROTICA

On June 12, Dagny follows up the success of Strangers/Lovers and ELLE with Dancefloor Erotica, a nine-track album that continues her love affair with the dancefloor while exploring new dimensions of herself as both an artist and songwriter.

Like its singles “Dancefloor Erotica,” “Closet Disco Queen,” and “Rain,” the album is playful and sweaty, but it also reveals darker edges and more uncompromising moments than her previous releases. From the club-driven “Gosh!” featuring Norwegian artist Metteson, to the unusually hard-hitting production of “Black Bugatti,” and the playful disco references of “C’est la Vie,” Dancefloor Erotica is a pulsating collection of songs designed to create and release energy. Here, Dagny takes up more space and stands more confidently in herself than ever before. The common thread throughout the album is movement and a desire to lose yourself in the moment.

I think I’ll always want to explore new things and feel like I’m evolving, and I love that music can become the soundtrack to different periods of life and frame different emotions. For me, this album became a reminder to be brave during a time when I needed that reminder. I’m very excited to see how fans will receive it, but I hope they can use these songs in their everyday lives—that they can inspire a feeling of strutting confidently down the street, showing yourself to the world, standing tall, caring a little less about what others think, and trusting yourself.”

Dancefloor Erotica takes listeners into a world where heavy basslines and playful synths wrap around Dagny’s electric vocals. We are transported to packed clubs and bustling city streets, drawing on 1980s and 1990s influences from both New York and the UK, while serving up pop songs that always offer an extra twist or an unexpected turn. Nine tracks overflowing with confidence, following their own path and paying little attention to the opinions of the world around them.

Dagny will also embark on a 13-date European tour throughout the winter, with stops including Amsterdam, London, and Berlin.
