Press release —
Swedish Trio Amor Y Vida Share Second Single "Without You"
Following the introduction of their harmony-led sound on debut single "Pockets", Stockholm trio Amor y Vida return with "Without You" on October 23rd via EMI / Universal Music Nordic.
Expanding on the intimate folk and Americana palette that first introduced the band, the new single is a quietly devastating reflection on love, grief and the difficulty of letting go. Drawing on the warmth of live performance, Without You places the trio's unmistakable three-part harmonies at its emotional core.
Recorded largely live at Studio Rymden with producer Daniel Bengtson, the arrangement allows every instrument room to breathe, preserving the intimacy between Alicia Panambi, Sara Danielsson and Tilde Schweitzer. The recording also features Wilma Wall on drums, Hilda Nordkvist on double bass, and acclaimed pianist Joel Lyssarides, whose delicate playing adds further depth to the song's understated elegance.
Lyrically, "Without You" captures the painful space between acceptance and hope. Questions repeat like unanswered thoughts, with each verse circling the impossible desire for just a little more time before everything changes.
Speaking about the song, Amor y Vida explain:
"This is a song about staying in a relationship, or going back to one, after you already know it's over. It's desperately asking for a little more time, being fully aware that the person you're asking doesn't love you anymore."
Their debut single "Pockets" introduced listeners to a warm, harmony-driven sound that balanced folk and Americana with a distinctly Scandinavian intimacy. "Without You" builds naturally on that foundation, revealing a band increasingly confident in allowing subtle performances and carefully crafted songwriting to carry emotional weight.
Amor y Vida are a Stockholm-based trio comprising Alicia Panambi, Sara Danielsson and Tilde Schweitzer. Formed after the three musicians discovered an immediate chemistry singing together at a jazz gig in 2022, the group bring together backgrounds in songwriting, Sweden’s independent music scene and touring. Their music centres on three-part vocal harmony, with guitar, pedal steel and trombone shaping a sound that moves between intimate folk and Americana, acoustic fragility and more abstract edges.
