NEW BOSTITCH® TWIN BLADE KNIFE OFFERS TWO UTILITY KNIVES IN ONE DESIGN

NEW YORK (October 27, 2014) – Bostitch announced the introduction of the latest innovation in the cutting tools category – the world’s first twin blade utility knife during its new product luncheon at the Westin Times Square in New York City. Stephen Skeels, leader of the company’s Cutting & Clamping SBU said, “Until now, users were forced to either carry two utility knives or constantly change the blade as they alternate between applications. In other instances, they would just simply like to work a little longer without having to stop and replace a dull blade every few minutes.” The new twin blade knife by Bostitch provides a solution to both scenarios because it is truly two knives in one.”

The new model 10-501 Bostitch twin blade knife’s unique design allows the user to alternate between two blades without carrying more than one knife. Switching between a hooked blade and a standard blade has never been easier; the user can simply retract one blade and extend the other without changing a thing. Regardless of the application, this new utility knife gives contractors and serious DIY’ers more options, whether they prefer to load two different blades or just want to use two of the same. The knife has interlocking blade sliders to ensure that only on blade is extended at a time (patent-pending).

The new Bostitch twin blade knife’s InstantChange™ feature allows the user to replace a blade in seconds by performing three simple steps: press the button located on the tool’s nose, remove the blade, and then insert the replacement blade. It also provides easy-access blade storage that holds up to nine blades for fast and easy blade changes. In total, this new knife has a storage capacity of 11 blades, if you count the two loaded in the front and the nine stored in the rear. Rubber comfort grips located on both the top and bottom of the knife help to minimize fatigue and reduce slippage.

The new Bostitch twin blade knife comes complete with two straight blades and two hook blades. Available now, it is expected to sell for approximately $10.99 at home centers, construction supply stores, as well as on the web.
