At 2019 FABTECH® Tradeshow, DEWALT® Announces Two New Die Grinders

CHICAGO, IL (November 12, 2019) – At the 2019 FABTECH® tradeshow, DEWALT debuts two new 2-Inch Die Grinders, the Brushless Variable Speed Paddle Switch Die Grinder with No Lock-On (DWE4997NVS) and Brushless Variable Speed Paddle Switch Die Grinder with Lock-On (DWE4997VS) for metalworking applications such as deburring, grinding, and even polishing.

Both Die Grinders feature 13-amp, efficient brushless motors that achieve 1,700 MWO, providing the power to get through industrial, heavy-duty applications. They each feature a variable speed dial that operates from 7,500 to 25,000 RPM and each offers a spindle lock button to allow for fast accessory changes. In addition, each grinder incorporates two bright LED lights to help illuminate dark work spaces. The Die Grinders include a PERFORM & PRTOECT™ Kickback Brake that shuts down the motor and brings the accessory to a stop when a pinch or stall event is detected. The die grinders also include the POWER-LOSS RESET® system. In the event of a power outage or other unexpected shut down, the trigger switch will need to be cycled (turned off and then on) to restart the tool.

The key differentiator between these two units is the No Lock-On versus Lock-On triggers. The No Lock-On version is also part of the LANYARD READY™ system (lanyard not included), which is an integrated solution to tether the tool to rigid structures when working at height with a maximum lanyard length of 6-1/2 ft., helping secure the tool in case it is dropped.
