Free League Coming to the Virtual UK Games Expo

UK Games Expo Online opens its digital gates this weekend Aug 21–23, and Free League Publishing will be virtually there with actual play shows and online games of award-winning RPGs ALIEN and Tales From the Loop and the recently released Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying. Also on the schedule is a panel on horror RPGs with the designers of ALIEN, Vaesen and the hit artpunk MÖRK BORG RPG.

The UK Games Expo is a virtual convention this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Free League is doing its part to keep the show going – online. Free League will be staffing its virtual stand V-26168 during the weekend, and below is the full schedule of activities as of now. More might be added later. All times are in BST:

Aug 21, 8 pm: ALIEN RPG "Hope’s Last Hand." The Effekt podcast plays "Hope’s Last Hand" for the award-winning ALIEN RPG live on the Free League YouTube channel.

Aug 22, 1 pm: Vaesen RPG "A Dark Night." The Vaesen RPG mystery "A Dark Night" is played live on the Free League YouTube channel. Hosted by the Sweden Rolls podcast.

Aug 22, 5 pm: "Horror in Roleplaying" Panel. On the UK Games Expo Main Stage Twitch channel, the designers of Free League's latest horror RPGs ALIEN, Vaesen and MÖRK BORG discuss how to best create dread and horror in RPGs. Featuring Andrew E.C. Gaska, Nils Hintze and Johan Nohr.

Aug 22, 8 pm: ALIEN RPG "District 11." The Effekt podcast plays "District 11" for the award-winning ALIEN RPG live on the Free League YouTube channel.

Aug 23, 11 am: "Navigating RPG Lore" Panel. On the UK Games Expo Main Stage Twitch channel, Symbaroum lead designer Mattias Johnsson Haake and others dive deep into the fascinating topic of lore and world-building in RPGs.

Aug 23, 1 pm: Tales from the Loop RPG "The Recycled Boy." The Tales From the Loop RPG mystery “The Recycled Boy” is played live on the Free League YouTube channel.

Aug 23, 8 pm: MÖRK BORG RPG "This is Not Us." The MÖRK BORG scenario "This is Not Us" is played live on the Free League YouTube channel.

In addition to these, Free League RPGs ALIEN, Vaesen and Tales From the Loop will also be available for visitors to UKGE to play online, in events organized by Gamesquest.

Finally, the UK Game Expo Awards ceremony will be held at 3 pm on Aug 23, with ALIEN RPG and the Chariot of the Gods scenario both nominated along with the Mother of Darkness campaign book for Symbaroum. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on the UK Games Expo Main Stage Twitch channel.
