Austin Hispanic Chamber Announces 2012 Award Winners
Austin Community is Invited to Celebrate at the Chamber’s Annual Gala

Austin, Texas (March 7, 2012) – The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) is proud to announce the upcoming arrival of their annual gala & awards ceremony, Celebrando Austin. The gala will be held on April 14 and the Hilton Austin Hotel located at 500 East 4th Street from 7:00pm – 11:00pm.

Celebrando Austin is a celebration! The event will commemorate the success of those living and working in Austin. Emceed by former Austin newscaster Olga Campos and KEYE TV’s Ron Oliveira, with live performances by Gina Chavez and Mariachi Estrella, Celebrando Austin is sure to electrify your Saturday night! 

“Our gala is the premier event of the year for people both living and working in Austin,” said Andy Martinez, president, GAHCC. “The night is filled with superb networking opportunities, delicious food, sensational entertainment and honors key leaders in the Austin community.”

Each year, the Chamber recognizes local individuals and corporations who exemplify outstanding leadership in the Greater Austin Hispanic community. The award winners have shown active commitment to the growth of Hispanic business, as well as to the economic development of the local business community.

The 2012 award recipients are:

Businessman of the Year: Juan Portillo, Tramex Travel
Businesswoman of the Year: Blanca Garcia, Casa Blanca Realty
Small Business of the Year: Snappy Snacks, Tom Ramsey
Chairs Award: Frank Garza, Vamos Marketing
Ambassador of the Year: Daniel Gonzalez, Veritrans L.L.C.
Volunteer of the Year: Elizabeth Gonzalez, New York Life
Corporation of the Year: General Motors
Founders Lifetime Achievement: John Trevino 

Tickets can be purchased at www.gahcc.org/celebrando.  Early Bird pricing expires March 16.Individual tickets are $85, $155 for couples and $900 for a table of 8.
