Press release -

Jay Shendure, M.D. Ph.D. Joins Halo Genomics' Scientific Advisory Board

“We are excited about having Dr. Shendure as a Scientific Advisor to Halo Genomics. Dr. Shendure’s expertise within the next generation sequencing field will be of great value as we craft our product development plans for the years ahead.” said Dr. Olle Ericsson, Chief Executive Officer of Halo Genomics.

Dr. Shendure has played a significant role in the early development of the next generation sequencing technologies and helped develop polony sequencing, a highly parallel sequencing-by-ligation method that formed the basis for Applied Biosystems’ SOLiD sequencer.  His research program has also pioneered pivotal advances in the field of targeted resequencing, including the development of exome sequencing as a novel approach to solve the genetic basis of Mendelian disorders. Dr. Shendure is currently assistant professor at the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle. He was recently named the Lowell Milken Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator.

Dr. Shendure stated, “My lab has a strong interest in developing tools for translational genomics and high throughput molecular biology, and I am excited to join Halo Genomics as Scientific Advisor given their promising pipeline of sample enrichment products.”
