Full control over valuable raw materials
Reliable container weighing as the basis for secure storage processes and future digitalisation at SYRSA.
SYRSA is a Mexican company specialising in the distribution and processing of high-quality raw materials for industries such as the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors. The product range extends from products such as sesame oil, cocoa, soya flour and milk powder to other sensitive raw materials with high standards of quality and availability.
Increasing demands on storage and container processes
As the company grows, so do the demands on container and logistics processes. Particularly when storing goods in largevolume containers, it is crucial to have reliable information on actual stock levels at all times. However, mechanical influences, temperature fluctuations and dynamic processes such as filling, emptying or transferring make it difficult to record contents with consistent precision.
Objective: Precise and stable container weighing
Against this backdrop, the focus shifted to optimising container weighing. The aim was to implement a solution that records the stock levels in the storage containers precisely, consistently and continuously, thereby creating a reliable basis for warehousing, material planning and further process steps.
Technical implementation and system architecture
Implementation took place in several phases. In the first project phase, a total of 12 containers were fitted with weighing technology from Minebea Intec. Each container is equipped with four PR 6203 compression load cells (30 t), combined with suitable mounting kits to ensure defined load application and long-term mechanical stability.
Signal processing is handled via PR 6130 connection boxes, whilst the PR 5310 weight indicators enable reliable visualisation and system control. The weighing system is complemented by industrial-grade cabling (PR 6135), which ensures stable and consistent signal transmission even under harsh operating conditions.
The chosen system architecture – with redundant load measurement points, mechanically optimised mounting and robust signal summation – optimally meets SYRSA’s requirements for tank weighing. It enables continuous monitoring of the stored materials and precise inventory control, which is of central importance given the high value and sensitivity of the raw materials and liquids being handled.
Scaling and international expansion
Following the successful commissioning in Mexico, the project has moved into an expansion phase. Four further Minebea Intec vessel scales are currently being prepared for installation in York, Pennsylvania (USA). Commissioning will be carried out by the experienced team from Mexico to ensure consistent implementation and comparable system performance across all sites.
In parallel, SYRSA is investing in the construction of a new production and storage facility in Toluca, Mexico. In the next phase of expansion, a further 12 containers will be equipped with weighing technology from Minebea Intec – clear evidence of the solution’s scalability and the growing importance of precise weighing within the company’s processes.
Outlook: Software and digitalisation
Beyond the hardware, the project opens up additional potential for process optimisation. Initial discussions regarding the integration of software solutions such as Batch-PMS and SPC@Enterprise are already underway.
Batch-PMS enables the structured control and monitoring of batch processes based on precise weighing data. For SYRSA, this means greater process reliability, reproducible workflows and improved traceability when handling high-value raw materials.
SPC@Enterprise is used for the overarching analysis andevaluation of process and weighing data. The software supports transparent process monitoring, the early detection of deviations, and data-driven optimisation across multiple plants and sites.
This underscores Minebea Intec’s broad portfolio of solutions, which extends far beyond pure weighing technology. As a system provider, the company integrates precise hardware, powerful software solutions and comprehensive services throughout the entire plant lifecycle, thereby laying the foundation for end-toend digitalisation, high process reliability and sustainable efficiency gains.
