Mr Sandless Franchise Wood Floor Refinishing

Franchise LLC Mr. Sandless

Floor Cleaning
Thoroughly vacuum all dust and loose dirt from the surface (Fig. 1). Next, wipe the floor with towels dampened with a good-quality hardwood floor cleaner. We used Squeaky Wood Floor Cleaner by Basic Coatings Inc., P.O. Box 677, Des Moines, IA 50303; www.basiccoatings.com. Mix one part cleaner to four parts water (Fig. 2). Place several large towels into the bucket, then wring one out, leaving it damp (Fig. 3). Wrap this towel around a clean broom and begin wiping the floor (Fig. 4). Turn the towel frequently, wiping until the area is free of dirt. Change towels as needed to keep a relatively clean wiping surface. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly before proceeding

During our preparation for finishing the floors after carpet removal, we will fill any holes that are noticeable. We also offer quarter round installation. That is the piece of trim that is removed when carpet is installed, so that they can lay the tack board against the wall. We custom cut, stain and finish the quarter round to tie your floor to the wall in a spectacular fashion! We also can move your furniture and pull your carpets up for you! Call us today!

Mr. Sandless Franchise LLC Sanding :Comparison of different clear finishes

Clear finishes are intended to make wood look good and meet the demands to be placed on the finish. Choosing a clear finish for wood involves trade-offs between appearance, protection, durability, safety, requirements for cleaning, and ease of application. The following table compares the characteristics of different clear finishes. 'Rubbing qualities' indicates the ease with which a finish can be manipulated to deliver the finish desired. Shellac should be considered in two different ways. It is used as a finish and as a way to manipulate the wood's ability to absorb other finishes by thinning it with denatured alcohol. The alcohol evaporates almost immediately to yield a finish that is completely safe but shellac will attach itself to virtually any surface, even glass, and virtually any other finish can be used over it.

About Mr. Sandless Franchise LLC

How long does it take?

There are a few factors that influence the amount of time we spend, such as if we will be moving and replacing your furniture, how many rooms we will be servicing, and how high the humidity is, which will add time to the curing process. But generally speaking, we can be in and out of most jobs between four and six hours. For a more specific time, just give us a call! We'll be more than happy to discuss the details of your floors with you!

Begin applying the finish to the floor along the wall. If you have strip flooring, work parallel to the grain. Dip the application pad into the tray (Fig. 10) and let it absorb the finish. Apply the finish to the floor in long strokes, starting with the pad held at a slight angle to the floor, and smoothing the finish with the pad held flat on the floor. Slightly overlap each course of finish with the last. The application should be neither too dry nor too excessive. One of the advantages of IMPACT is that it flows out evenly, creating a smooth, uniform finish.

Mr. Sandless Franchise LLC Wood : After roughening the floor, thoroughly vacuum to remove the dust. It's a good idea to also vacuum the walls, as dust tends to cling there. Go over the floor with a towel dampened in clean water to pick up any remaining dust. Let the floor dry before continuing.
