Mobile Executive Summit Drawing Top Retailers, Brands to San Francisco
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. May 19, 2010 — The proliferation of smartphones and mobile applications is reshaping shopping behavior and compelling retailers to rethink their customer-facing strategies.
Meijer, Macy’s, Steve Madden and Best Buy are among the innovators leading the charge, and these change-makers will outline their latest initiatives from the customer to the factory at the Retail Mobile Executive Summit July 19-21. RetailConnections is partnering with the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) to launch the inaugural event for senior-level retail and brand executives at San Francisco’s Renaissance Stanford Court.
With opportunity comes risk. That’s why the Mobile Summit is built around a solid agenda that examines privacy matters and best practices for protecting customer information, along with a “Lunch and the Legislative Update,” covering crucial legal matters retailers cannot afford to ignore.
Retailers as diverse as Sephora, True Value and Target, among many others, are sending delegates to the Mobile Summit, while chains like Lowe’s, Hy-Vee and AutoZone are taking a “team” approach, dispatching as many as four top executives to optimize the takeaways.
Roundtable and panel discussions will explore the future of mobile including payments, promotions, couponing as well as back-end processes for inventory management, loss prevention and supply chain activities. Industry experts will demonstrate how location-based marketing services, enabled by 2-D bar code technology, help retailers engage shoppers who are in close proximity to stores.
Among the executives confirmed to speak:
- John Thompson, SVP, General Manager, Bestbuy.com, “Customer Loyalty & Mobility”
- Keith Enright, VP, Chief Privacy Officer, Macy’s Inc., “Customer Privacy, Mobile Marketing & Multi-Channel Retailers”
- Andrew Koven, President, E-commerce, Customer Experience, Steve Madden, Ltd., “How to Build and Manage a Mobile Mindset that Complements Your Business and Brand”
- Jeff Handler, SVP, Marketing and Advertising, Meijer, “Meijer in an Evolving Mobile Space”
“The profusion of new mobile technologies, new social and shopping behavior doesn’t have to mean confusion,” said Marc Millstein, president of RetailConnections. “We’ll sort it all out at the Mobile Summit, where attendees can count on a highly interactive, informative and enlightening experience.” For more information and to register, visit www.retailconnections.biz or www.retailmobile.net.
