Sofi Tukker (dance)

New York duo Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern bagged more than half a million Shazams for ‘Best Friend’. The track, which hit the Shazam charts after appearing on the Apple X commercial, is a well deserved breakthrough for one of the freshest sounds in dance music.

Tom Walker (alternative)

Manchester’s Tom Walker grew from 25,000 monthly Shazams in June to 170,000 in November. The singer-songwriter also hit our Trending List five times in six months. What’s changed? ‘Leave A Light On’ hit the Shazam Worldwide Chart after a strong showing in Italy and his native UK.

blackbear (Hip Hop / R&B)

There were rumblings at the start of summer that blackbear was onto something special. ‘do re mi’ grew, attracted a guest spot from Gucci Mane and became a sleeper hit. This is familiar ground for Matthew Tyler Musto, the man behind blackbear: As a producer and songwriter, he’s already worked with Justin Bieber, Linkin Park and G Eazy, among others.

Devin Dawson (Country)

Currently sitting pretty in Shazam’s Country Music Chart with his breakout single ‘All On Me’, the former YouTuber has already hit the road with country music heavyweight Tim McGraw and will tour with Brett Eldredge next year. His debut album - ‘Dark Horse’ - is due in January. It will surely show him to be anything but.
