Shazam Will Provide NBC Olympics a Social TV Interactive Experience for the 2012 London Olympics

NEW YORK – June 25, 2012Shazam®, the world’s leading media discovery company, will provide NBC Olympics, a division of the NBC Sports Group, a social TV interactive experience to viewers of the 2012 London Olympics from July 27 – August 12. While watching the Olympics across NBCUniversal properties -- NBC, NBC Sports Network, MSNBC, Bravo and CNBC -- U.S. viewers can use the Shazam App on their mobile device to unlock extras such as, unique content on athletes, up-to-the-minute information on results, and the medal count. Additionally, they can participate in viewer polls and share on social media via Twitter and Facebook.

  • Keep up with the schedule of events
  • Learn more about the athletes through competitor bios, news and photos
  • Get up-to-the-minute results on all events
  • Keep track of the medal count
  • Participate in interactive viewer polls
  • Check in and participate in the discussion on social media

And, because the tag result lives on in the Shazam Tag Results, fans can engage with the extras wherever they are. People who already have Shazam on their phones should ensure they have downloaded the latest version of the app for their smartphone or tablet to have an optimum experience while watching the Games.
