The New STANLEY® Leverlock® Tape Rules Deliver Precise Measurements In A Comfortable Ergonomic Shape

New Britain,CT – August 21, 2013 – Stanley® announced today the introduction of the redesigned family of LeverLock® tape rules, ideal for both DIY and professional use. Tape rules are the basis of every tool set, allowing users consistent accurate measurements. Vice President of Innovation, Christopher Woolley, summed up the redesign, “The newly reengineered LeverLock® tape is better than the original model in virtually every way. Features including a write-on label and ergonomic design will be appreciated by both DIYers and Pros.” The updated LeverLock® line will be available in seven models; 12, 16, and 25 foot, a 25 foot magnetic/fractional read, 25 foot center read scale, 25 foot engineers scale as well as a 30-foot model.

Each tape touts a write-on label, allowing users to quickly jot down measurements. A non-marring base helps to prevent the tape from unintentionally scuffing surfaces during normal use, for users who are working with expensive woods or painted surfaces. Additionally, the 25 foot models are each exactly 3 inches from front to back for measurements up against an object. The user simply needs to add 3 inches to the reading on the blade. All LeverLock® blades are coated with a non-glare finish ideal for outdoor use.

One of the most common tape failures comes from fast retraction speed of the tape blade which may lead to blade breakage or possible injury. The auto locking mechanism on the LeverLock® helps prevent these types of occurrences. The blade only extends or retracts when the lever on the bottom of the tape is activated by the user. The user can control the retraction speed by applying various amounts of pressure to the lever.
