Shoe Blogger-Turned-Author Digs Her Heels Into Atlanta

Atlanta, GA -- Felicia Coley of The Well-Heeled Society blog will be participating in the First Annual Atlanta Black Book Expo on August 7th at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA. The event, which is free to the public, will be from 11AM - 7PM.

Coley will be promoting her book titled How To Stylishly Fall From Grace , with a percentage from every book sold to benefit Say NO - UNiTE To End Violence Against Women (an initiative of the women's fund of the UN). "My goal is to give 'heeling' power to women worldwide affected by domestic violence," states Coley.

The self-published book is a fictional memoir about a fashion-forward, independent gal who is swept off her feet by a man she meets at a Broadway play. Or so she thinks, until she relocates her life, wardrobe and shoes to New York City to live with him.

"In this climate of celebrity reports of domestic abuse, there are far too many women - rich, poor and middle class - who are dealing with this issue.  And most, silently. This story is about the woman we never read about in the headlines: one who heeds the warning signs before her situation escalates to a physical one," says Coley.

With a storyline that has a Cinderella twist, Coley hopes women will walk away with the message of self-worth.  Especially when up to 70% of women may be abused in their lifetime, which has a multi-layered definition that goes beyond physical.

"Whether the customer attending the book expo is single, married or divorced, she will want to visit my booth," says Coley. "Aside from investing in a good read (and a worthy cause), there will be an amazing chance for all of my customers to elevate their shoe game; Ohio Artist Lauren Luna has customized a pair of stilettos as a giveaway, just for the occasion."

Sponsors for How To Stylishly Fall From Grace include Shoe Designer Carmen Steffens, Save Your Sole, shuzsociety, Pedisavers and The Savvy Host.
