Museum of Dance reopened

Dansmuseet, is a museum dedicated to world dance, and a unique museum. The Museum will reopen on October 25 in their new locations on Drottninggatan 17. Apart from the permanent displays, several temporary exhibitions are put on every year. Dance films are always available and live performances. There is a large selection of events and activities to choose from during autumn, winter and spring.

Dansmuseet was established in 1953 in a basement of the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. The collections and activities have developed a great deal over the years, and the museum has moved several times.On October 25 the museum will reopen on Drottninggatan 17. The popular restaurant "Bistro Rolf de Maré"

The museum has its origin in the Archives Internationales de la Danse, founded in Paris in 1933 by the collector and leader of "Swedish Ballet" in Paris. Mr Rolf de Maré born and raised in Stockholm was the nephew of Mrs Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, founder of Hallwylska museet
