Press release -

Wayne’s Coffee candidate for Best in Nordics

The Europe & Middle East Coffee Awards is the most prestigious competition in the coffee industry, recognising companies and individuals for their outstanding achievements within the sector.

The awards are in their twelfth year, and Swedish brand Wayne’s Coffee is pleased to have been nominated in the category Best Coffee Chain – Nordics.

Organic work pays off

Mats Hörnell, CEO of Wayne’s Coffee, sees the nomination as an affirmation of the long-term work being conducted by the company:

- We’ve always worked hard on our organic profile. The only difference is that the level of ambition is so much wider. It can be seen and tasted in practically every part of our range. Plus we’re the only coffee chain in Sweden to carry the KRAV organic ecolabel.

- I see the nomination as proof that perseverance pays off. The ultimate coffee break is not only a great treat in the moment, but also kind to the planet. I think this is particularly clear in our home market, where people are familiar with us. Everyone knows that we’re serious.”

Competition in Dubai

The Europe & Middle East Coffee Awards will be held in November at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai. The winners are chosen by members of the industry, who get to vote for the companies they feel are leading the way in the sector.

And leading the way is important to CEO Mats Hörnell:

- Obviously we’re hoping for a win. But this is a chance not simply to show how good we are, but also to set a good example. Ideally, we want to encourage the whole industry to follow our lead and move in the same direction. The world needs more sustainable businesses.
