Yanmar Begins Construction on New Manufacturing Hub to Support Long-Term Growth in Brazil

São Paulo, Brazil (August 6, 2026) – One year after announcing plans to invest BRL 280 million in a new manufacturing facility in Brazil, Yanmar has marked the start of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony for its new plant in Indaiatuba, São Paulo. Representing one of Yanmar's most significant recent manufacturing investments in Brazil, the facility will initially accommodate the production of tractors, engines and generators, while bringing manufacturing, logistics and administrative operations together on a single integrated campus. The project underscores Yanmar's long-term commitment to the Brazilian market and is designed to support the country's growing demand for sustainable agricultural, industrial and energy solutions.

Scheduled for phased completion through 2030, the new facility will significantly expand production capacity, improve manufacturing efficiency and provide the foundation for Yanmar's future growth in Brazil. The first phase is scheduled to begin operations in 2027.

The July 28 groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives of Yanmar South America, local government officials, business partners, and other invited guests, marking the official commencement of the project.

Building for Long-Term Growth

Brazil's agriculture, construction and energy sectors continue to expand while facing increasing pressure to improve productivity, strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and reduce environmental impact. Meeting these evolving needs requires manufacturing capacity that is both more resilient and more sustainable. The new facility is designed to address these challenges while providing the flexibility to meet future market needs throughout the region.

Located on a 140,000-square-meter site, approximately three times larger than Yanmar's current manufacturing footprint in Indaiatuba, the new campus is expected to create approximately 100 direct and indirect jobs by 2029 while providing room for future expansion.

Bringing Global Manufacturing Excellence to Brazil

The new plant will incorporate the Yanmar Production System, bringing together manufacturing expertise developed across Yanmar's operations in Japan. Automated production technologies, improved material handling, enhanced logistics, and upgraded workplace safety and ergonomic systems will support higher levels of quality, efficiency and productivity.

As part of the project, members of the Brazilian team recently visited Yanmar manufacturing facilities in Japan to study production best practices and evaluate how they can be applied in the new factory, reinforcing collaboration across Yanmar's global manufacturing network.

The project also incorporates sustainability initiatives aligned with Yanmar's global business strategy, including the use of natural lighting, automated lighting controls and photovoltaic power generation to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Project Timeline

The project will be completed in three phases:

• 2027: Production begins with the transfer of tractor, engine and generator manufacturing.
• 2029: Production capacity expands and the spare parts distribution center is enlarged.
• 2030: Completion of the integrated manufacturing campus, including administrative offices and training facilities.
