Yanmar to Host “YANMAR DESIGN VISON OF TOMORROW OSAKA”

Osaka, Japan (November 20, 2025) – Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. will host “YANMAR DESIGN VISON OF TOMORROW OSAKA” from Thursday, December 18, 2025, to Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the PLAT UMEKITA complex in Osaka’s Umekita district and on the first floor of the company’s headquarters, the YANMAR FLYING-Y BUILDING. The exhibition highlights the evolution of Yanmar’s design initiatives and presents future landscapes envisioned by Yanmar Design.

This exhibition is based on the “YANMAR DESIGN EXHIBITION” held in 2024 at YANMAR TOKYO in Yaesu and adds new perspectives for Kansai, the region where the company originated. Marking its 100th anniversary in 2012, Yanmar appointed creative director Kashiwa Sato and began integrating design into its corporate management, alongside a refreshed corporate brand. Since then, the company has established an in-house design division and communicated its unique identity through design across a wide range of fields including product, environmental design, services, and graphics.

As part of this exhibition linking the company’s origins to its future, Yanmar will display the HB model diesel engine, the world’s first successfully commercialized compact diesel engine introduced in 1933 that contributed to Japan’s industrial development, along with the 4TN101 Concept, its latest hydrogen engine designed to support a decarbonized society. At the Yanmar headquarters building, a reference exhibit will feature a customizable tractor based on the YT3 series, allowing users to tailor parts and decorative elements.

Exhibit Linking Yanmar’s Origins to Its Future at the PLAT UMEKITA

The exhibit contrasts Yanmar’s legacy diesel engine—the HB small horizontal water-cooled diesel engine, the world’s first successfully commercialized compact diesel engine developed by founder Magokichi Yamaoka—with the latest hydrogen engine, the 4TN101 Concept. Visitors can also experience Yanmar’s past and future together in one space.

YANMAR PRODUCT VISION (YPV) at the PLAT UMEKITA

Making its Osaka debut, the exhibit will showcase the next-generation design concepts announced in November 2024: the full-scale YPV-L (for agricultural machinery) and a model of the YPV-S (foiling yacht). These concepts present Yanmar Design’s vision for the future of agriculture and marine life as the company looks toward 2035.
