Do you have a chair in your bedroom that serves as a temporary wardrobe?

Do you sometimes drop dirty clothes on the floor and use a chair as clothing storage and ‘wardrobe’ for half-dirty clothing that’s lying around and doesn’t obviously belong in either the laundry basket or the wardrobe?

Instead of accumulating a clothing stack on the chair beside your bed, try creating an “intermediate station” where you can air and store clothing that is not yet ready to be tossed in the laundry basket.

Suggestions for an intermediate station include a clothes rail or hooks and smart shelving systems for your wardrobe. However, remember not to overload your intermediate station, as this can quickly create a feeling of chaos.

Hooks on the back of a bedroom door provide a perfect “intermediate station” for garments that are neither clean nor dirty. These are available to buy in countless different shapes and colours and are extremely easy to hang or attach to a door.

Whatever option you go for, the main rule is not to overload your intermediate station – four hooks means a maximum of four garments.

With everything in its proper place, you will feel a greater sense of harmony!
