Crayfish party at the Veranda

The Grand Hôtel’s popular crayfish buffet at the Veranda is a cherished August tradition to which many guests return year after year.

As tradition goes, the month of August is officially crayfish season in Sweden. On Thursday, August 11, the Grand Hôtel will be serving a colourful crayfish buffet at the Veranda, featuring fresh signal crayfish, a cheese board, salads, Jansson’s Temptation and chanterelle crêpes. For dessert, there is fresh fruit tart with Swedish berries, whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream.

Crayfish can also be enjoyed at the Veranda after August 11. From August 12-21, a four-course crayfish supper will be available with signal crayfish and chanterelle soup to start, followed by a main course of grilled pike-perch in a buttered crayfish broth, and a delectable dark chocolate terrine with ice-cream for dessert.

“Crayfish in August is a fine, highly-cherished tradition that we here at the Grand Hôtel are delighted to be able to offer our guests,” says Pia Djupmark, CEO, Grand Hôtel.


The crayfish buffet will be served at the Veranda on August 11, from 6-10pm.
Price: SEK 885 per person.

A four-course crayfish supper will be served at the Veranda from August 12 to 21.
Price: SEK 685 per person.
