At the DN Gulddraken gala in Stockholm yesterday, Mathias Dahlgren’s Matbordet experience ‘Radical M&Ts’ received the honorary Best Find of the Year 2015’ award.
The jury’s statement is as follows: With cashmere sweaters now sold at H&M, airfares at less than train travel and truffles available at ICA, then the greatest luxury today is people, time and conversation. The Mathias Dahlgren Matsalen at the Grand Hôtel has combined the exclusive feeling of luxury with the relaxed vibe of eating in the living room of a good friend. Up to 10 people at a time can enjoy the Radical M&Ts experience, where one of Sweden’s (and the world’s) best chefs cooks, talks and serves food in an intimate setting. The cost of SEK 750 for a full dinner, including wine, is nothing but a steal in this context.”*
Radical M&Ts is served on Mondays and Tuesdays at Mathias Dahlgren’s Matbordet, with other experiences lined up for the rest of the week. On Wednesdays, a guest is invited to discuss and cook food based on a specific theme, and at the end of the week, Thursdays and Fridays, a five-course meal based on five different seasonal produce is served.
*The jury’s statement DN refers to Mathias Dahlgren Matsalen, while the Radical M&Ts experience is actually served at Matbordet. Matbordet is however located in a separate room in the two-star Michelin Guide restaurant.
