PRODUCTS MADE FROM TRASH
The Haglöfs Essens Mimic jacket is currently making waves thanks to its excellent performance and functionality. One of the things that people love most about the garment is the synthetic insulation QuadFusion™ Mimic, a remarkable invention that combines the warming capabilities of down with great moisture management. As a bonus, it is made from post-consumer recycled polyester: in other words, material made from plastic trash.
So, the material that really makes the jacket special has enjoyed a previous existence as a completely different product - and in being rescued, repurposed and put back into this premium garment, has entered into a cycle of real, circular sustainability, instead of ending up as for example landfill.
What's more, Haglöfs’ commitment to recycling is starting to extend way beyond polyester. Thanks to new techniques and high-quality final products, the range has this year begun to include recycled wool, and will next year also include recycled polyamide, providing all-new high-performance gear from previously discarded materials.
