Kommuninvest plans seventh Green Bond

Kommuninvest plans to issue a new green bond, its seventh to date and the fifth in Swedish kronor. Danske Bank, SEB and Swedbank have been appointed lead managers for the transaction, which can be expected in the near future, market conditions permitting.

Under its Green Bonds framework, Kommuninvest finances Swedish municipal investment projects in eight areas, including renewable energy, green buildings, public transport and water management.

At the end of April, 2019, Kommuninvest's portfolio of Green loans amounted to a total of 251 projects in 119 municipalities and regions. In total, SEK 48.8 billion (USD 5.1 billion) had been committed, of which SEK 32.2billion (USD 3.4 billion) had been disbursed.

Kommuninvest finances the Green loans through Green Bonds issuance. To date, Kommuninvest has issued a total of SEK 23.9billion (USD 3.7 billion) in six transactions, making Kommuninvest Sweden's largest green bond issuer. Currently, five green bonds are outstanding.
