Löfbergs signs a petition for strengthening the EU’s climate change strategy
The coffee roaster Löfbergs has set tough targets for its climate work. All energy will come from renewable sources by 2020 and the company’s climate impact will be reduced with 40 per cent. Instruments that guide in the right direction are needed to create the prerequisites for better climate work in Europe. That is why Löfbergs together with 18 other companies have signed a letter to the Ministers of Energy in the European Union regarding updating and tightening the EU’s climate change strategy and targets.
- The petition is a request to the European leaders to set ambitious targets and to up the pace in the member countries’ plans to reduce emissions. The EU has a possibility to be the driving force in this conversion and to urge other operators with large climate impact to act more decisively against emissions, says Lars Appelqvist, CEO at Löfbergs.
