The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better city, better life". Three keywords for Sweden’s participation: Innovation, Sustainability, and Communication have been further developed into Sweden’s theme for Expo 2010: Sweden – Spirit of Innovation.

Bona Lifetime Support at Expo 2010The Bona system and Lifetime support concept will be demonstrated at the Expo 2010 as Bona will sponsor the exhibition with products for wooden floors. One of Bona’s customers will supply the Swedish Pavilion with wooden floors that have been finished with Bona’s UV finish. Bona’s products will also be part of the Finnish Pavilion, to which the leading Finnish hardwood floor producer, Karelia- Upofloor Oy is providing their 2009 Red dot award winner Saima floors.

- Karelia-Upofloor Oy’s is a longstanding partner to Bona Industrial Coating. Together we have developed a new and especially hardwearing UV finish for Saima, tells Paul Spångberg, Vice President and Director of Division Industrial Coating at Bona. The Saima floor will be installed with Bona R850 adhesive and maintained with Bona’s floor care products.

As part of Bona’s Lifetime support program Karelia Upofloor will also get on site support from the experts of Bona’s team.

- At World Expo 2010 Bona has the possibility to demonstrate the unique Bona Lifetime Support, continues Paul Spångberg. Except for the high quality UV based finishes that Bona offers parquet producers to give their wooden floor durable surface protection; we provide a range of user-friendly products for installation, renovation and maintenance of wooden floors. Everything needed to keep the floors in excellent condition over the longer term. Thanks to Bona’s worldwide presence this is our unique offer all over the world, regardless where the floor is installed.

The Swedish Pavilion
The Swedish pavilion at Expo 2010 is a temporary building that will contain the Swedish exhibition, VIP areas and other facilities. The 3,000 square meter building will be constructed on a section approximately the same size, and will be located in the European section alongside the other Nordic countries. The Swedish engineering and design company SWECO is designing the pavilion. They describe their concept as:

“Nature is close to the heart of every Swede and this makes it a natural starting point for innovation. Nature is a source of inspiration and creativity. What makes a city attractive is the networks which are created between people. An open, inviting and enriched urban room provides a good base for life energy and innovation. The pavilion will reflect the meeting between city and nature and the optimism and strength that can be created where they come together.”

*The Bona System covers everything needed for a wooden floor throughout its lifetime be it sanding, finishing, fastening or maintaining a wooden floor.
