Ell & Hart is comprised of two women who sound like they’ve been singing together since birth. However, Australia’s Sheona Urquhart and Sweden’s Jade Ell have been living 15 589 km apart until a year and a half ago when they met. Since that moment, they’ve been inseparable.
Based in Stockholm, the music of Ell & Hart features lush vocal harmonies against a backdrop of indie keys, a sprinkling of alto saxophone and interesting contemporary beats. The ingredients of which result in a new and fresh approach to modern indie-pop music. Jade and Sheona take particular pride in their live performances, ensuring audiences are thoroughly entertained by their witty personalities, as well as their luscious music.

‘Ell’ (Jade Ell)
Swedish artist/songwriter, Jade Ell, has contributed to albums that sold over 5 million physical copies. Songs she wrote for RBD (Rebeldes) charted at #1 on the Billboard Top Latin Album Charts and she has received awards from STIM, The Swedish Performing Rights Society and SKAP. She writes regularly for both international and local artists, such as Dotter and Nad Sylvan to name a few.
‘Hart’ (Sheona Urquhart)
Australian singer/saxophonist and writer, Sheona Urquhart, appeared on the famed Aussie soap- opera ‘Neighbours" as Candace Carey and was a fixture on Melbourne’s live theatre scene as both a founding member of a cappella girl group Ginger and Tonic and comedy duo TV Live on Stage. Whilst living in London, she worked with artists within Decca Records (Universal Music UK)

"Caught up in a rainstorm"
Caught up in a rainstorm” features the renown tight harmonies of Ell & Hart, who had to improvise a way of recording simultaneously in order to capture the “vibrations” that occur when they sing together. Jade ended up recording from the studio’s drum-kit room, with Sheona in the next room, singing to each other through the glass door separating them - almost like star crossed lovers!
This ‘live’ sound is enhanced through the production of Mats Valentin, which is driven by guitars and percussion intensifying throughout the track.
The song celebrates the stability of true love in an ever tumultuous world - there are some things that will withstand the storm.
