Jessica Bäckman enters Rome and FIA Motorsport Games 2019

Between October 31st–November 3rd the Olympics in motorsport is held: FIA Motorsport Games. Jessica Bäckman is one of five Swedish drivers to defend the nation's colors and fight for the medals on the Vallelunga Circuit in Italy.
– It feels very honorable to represent Sweden and to be the only Swedish driver in the category I am selected for, Jessica Bäckman says.

The FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) organizes the Motorsport Games, also called the Olympics in motorsport, from October 31st – November 3rd. The host country is Italy and the track is Vallelunga, just outside of Rome. The circuit is 4 km long and offers technically challenges with both fast and slow sections. For the six categories of the competition, each country has chosen a driver to compete for their nation, in each category. The drivers compete for gold, silver and bronze medals and after the competition is finished, the winning nation of the championship will also be crowned. Swedish Jessica Bäckman will compete for the Italian team Target Competition.
– I feel very excited and have a good feeling inside me. It feels very honorable to represent Sweden and to be the only Swedish driver in the category I am selected for. I will compete both for myself and for Sweden, Jessica says.

The Swedish drivers will wear uniquely designed overalls.

Touring Car Cup awaits
This weekend's competition attracts as many as 20 drivers from all over the world, and offers categories such as the Drifting Cup, Karting Slalom Cup and Touring Car Cup. It is in the Touring Car Cup that Jessica Bäckman now takes place on the starting grid with her Hyundai i30 N TCR car. This will also be the last race of the season for this one half of the racing siblings Bäckman’s from Boden.
– I have competed in Touring Car Racing throughout the year and it is also the car type I am most used to, so this category fits me perfectly. I am normally fast on technical tracks and Vallelunga is technical, so I feel confident going into this race weekend. Now I will make sure to end a very fun season in the absolute best way, Jessica says.
