Ullis och renen Rudolf - Klick-training a reindeer

As a child, Ulrika Andersson dreamt of learning animals tricks so they could be in the movies.

Four years ago, she actually went thru with it, and bought two reindeers from a Sami village here in Jämtland. Today one of the reindeers, ”Rudolf” has become a proper screen actor, with appearances in major commercial and movie productions.

With her ”Klicker”, Ulrika has been able to train Rudolf to follow commands and routines. Clicker training is a method based on positive reinforcement. Ulrika says that few things are impossible when it comes to animal training 

- Everything that an individual is physicaly capable of doing, you can train them to do. You just need to have enough of patience, time, energy and a really good plan.
