Notes From Sigma’s Augmented Reality Seminar

Last week Sigma Technology conducted a seminar dedicated to augmented reality. The seminar was open for customers, students and employees in Linköping. It was the fourth event within technical information theme, held by Sigma Technology. The speaker was Niklas Rengfors, XMReality.

Niklas Rengfors works at XMReality from Linköping. XMReality works with remote guidance, and their product lets an expert guide user anywhere. The expert can see through the user’s eyes and guide by using their hands.

The product is best understood through using it, and the visitors of the seminar got a chance to try out the equipment. There is also a video demonstration available on Youtube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmp5KNCn0RE

XMReality also has several applications where their product can be used for displaying technical information using augmented reality. Instead of using a manual a user can see 3d-models with instructions displayed in “plain sight”. This creates a lot of ideas for the future about technical information.

This seminar was the fourth Sigma Technology has held in Linköping, and it was well received by the visitors. Sigma Technology will continue seminars, and the ambition is to do this also in other Swedish cities.
