Press release -

Premiere for non-stop service with Blue Air to Turin from Stockholm Arlanda

Blue Air is now starting the new direct route to Turin from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The service is operated twice a week until October 2018. It will be smooth travel for passengers going to Italian ski resorts such as Cervinia, Champoluc and Sestriere as well as the French resorts of Serre Chevalier and La Grave. As the main city in the Piedmont region, Turin in northern Italy is also an exciting destination for anyone interested in the region’s food and beverages.

The carrier Blue Air will now make it easier for all travellers on a ski holiday to fly non-stop to a destination with smooth connections to resorts in the Alps. Turin is the second destination that Blue Air offers from Stockholm Arlanda, in addition to the route to Bucharest.

“We are pleased that Blue Air is expanding at Stockholm Arlanda and investing in service for Swedish skiers this winter. The need for direct routes to Italy remains strong year-round, which is also reflected in the growth in demand outpacing supply as soon as new routes are launched. Over the past five years, air traffic to Italy, a popular country, has increased by 55 per cent,” said Elizabeth Axtelius, Aviation Business Director at Swedavia.

Tudor Constantinescu, Chief Commercial Officer at Blue Air, said: “Blue Air enjoyed a very successful year at Stockholm Arlanda and we are delighted to celebrate it by announcing our first service to and from Turin. This addition will offer Swedish passengers and winter sports enthusiasts a gateway to the famous Alpine ski resorts around Turin, which consist of over 600 km of slopes. We have built a strong reputation as a leader in the Piedmont Region with our high standards in terms of safety, security, punctuality and customer satisfaction. Stockholm-Turin route is also an important step ahead in strengthening our position within the Nordic block.”

Departures with Blue Air from Stockholm Arlanda to Turin will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays during the period January 20 to October 28, 2018.

Blue Air is a European airline operating more than 100 destinations in Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey. Since 2014, the number of passengers has more than doubled to 3.6 million in 2016, and Blue Air has a fleet of 29 Boeing 737 with another 20 aircraft on order.
