Arla Foods amba’s on account price for conventional milk will increase by 1 eurocent for October 2018. As a result of this and a 0.19 pence quarterly adjustment in the currency smoothing mechanism Arla’s manufacturing price will increase by 1.09 pence to 32.47 pence per litre, from 1 October 2018.

Arla Foods amba, the leading European dairy co-operative, has announced the departure of its UK Managing Director, Tomas Pietrangeli, who is leaving the company to become CEO of Danish retail group Dagrofa A/S. Pietrangeli will be replaced by Ash Amirahmadi, who is currently SVP - Sales for Arla Foods in the UK.

World School Milk Day is an annual global event organised by the Food & Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations to celebrate the health benefits of school milk programs. Since its inception in 2000, over 40 countries across the world have taken part. From Morrison’s “Milk for Farmers” to our very own “Farmer-owned marque”, 2015 was a year which saw the launch of great initiatives aimed at getting the British public to support dairy farmers. There is no denying that times have been tough for the industry recently, and although the initiatives at home have proved a great success, there is still a lot of work to be done.
